Abide

Abiding is learning to “pitch a tent” in Scripture and remain there until it shapes your way of life. In the garden, Adam and Eve sinned, felt shame, hid from God’s Presence, and tried to cover themselves with their own resources—their “fig leaves.” We will learn how to break that cycle of hiding and instead run straight to Jesus, staying in a close, dependent relationship with Him as our one true resource. Here, in His Presence, you discover your faithful Advocate and Companion, offering His understanding, His care, and His power to help you “practice the truth” and walk in His holy and healthy ways.

John 15:5

"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."

A Living Sacrifice

5

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

2 Corinthians 10:3-6

Take Every Thought Captive

5

"For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete."
